We all feel guilty every once in a while. Guilty for spending too much money. Guilty for not calling back a friend when you've been busy. Guilty for not being a "good enough" partner. How do we cope? First of all, by breathing in and turning inwards.
Feel your body's sensations. Do you feel the sense of guilt on your head, arms, legs?
Essential oils are a beautiful proactive way to take your medical care in your own hands. It helps when feeling any type of emotion, either being too much or too little of a certain emotion, or when it surfaces as a physical symptom such as a headache or tiredness.
Here are some essential oils that help with the guilt, either it be mom-guilt or everyday guilt or if having trouble to indulge yourself:
Ideally, massage Ylang Ylang with fractionated coconut oil on your scalp. Apply pressure with your finger tips. This will relieve tension almost immediately.
With Vetiver massage it will fractionated coconut oil onto your shoulders, rubbing it in up to down. Continue down to your arms and massage your underarms when feeling insecure.
Bergamot works wonders when it comes to self-assurance. Inhale it straight from the bottle before leaving the house.
Another option would to be to diffuse all three.
Looking for an oil to indulge guilt-free? Rose. That’s all you need to know. It's the OIL for self-love/care.
Tonight I'm leaving my 6-month old baby, Izán for the first time with his aunt and believe me, it’s an overwhelming feeling mixed with excitement. We’re celebrating my partner’s 30th birthday tonight and it seemed like the perfect occasion to have a night to ourselves with friends after 6 months.
Oh, but the mom-guilt! Guilt is a big topic for me, especially now as a mother. I feel guilty when I don’t have the nerve to pay my sons attention all day or when I want to do something for myself and be just ME for a change. I’m quite the introvert, so having some alone time every once in a while is essential to me. Now in motherhood it’s about maintaining the balance between being there and letting go, self-care and taking care of my relationship with my partner, family and friends. No wonder all the guilt! Lucky for me, I have a few tools in my toolbox.
