Green Smoothie a la Inés

nutritious, green, tangy





Green smoothies in summer are one of my favorite breakfasts. In summer I prefer eating more raw and cold dishes. Smoothies do exactly the trick in taking all the vitamins, fiber and nutrients I need to start off my morning. This smoothie is tangy due to the ginger, which smoothes stomach irritations such as bloating. Arugula is bitter and the fiber content helps clean out the colon promoting healthy bowel movements. I add one banana as a natural sweetener. Hagebutte and orange juice add for an extra dose of vitamin C to absorb all the other vitamins properly. Spirulina is a superfood and contains so many B vitmains, coper and iron. A very popular smoothie ingredient. Cucumber is known to cool down the body, perfect in hot weather.


ingredients:

1-2 handfuls arugula

Tiny thumb sized piece ginger

1 banana 

1 tsp Hagebutte 

1 tsp Spirulina 

1 fresh pressed orange juice

2 ice cubes

1 big chunk of cucumber 

optional: date syrup or sweetener of preference


instructions:

Mix all together in blender or NutriBullet. Add toppings of Enjoy cold!
