Aquarius Season: 20 January - 18 February

Many might think Aquarius is a water sign due to its name. But that is one of the many things that can be confusing about this sign. Aquarius knows how to stand out in the crowd. They are the innovators, the genius freaks, the changemakers. Ruled by Uranus in modern astrology, this planet gives the erratic yet eccentric energy that Aquarius inherently carries.

Characteristics

Known as the waterbearer, it pours the water of knowledge into the wells of the village. Thus passing on this wisdom from village to village. Continuously analyzing and intellectualizing concepts that it hears along the way and passing this information to further people. This is a sign that is deeply concerned and moved to impact the masses.

With its profound concern for how the collective is doing and what needs to change. It takes the time to study and understand the systems in place in order to dismantle and disrupt them. The rebel at play. With this disruption comes room for change and innovation. How to create change for the masses in a more sustainable way it asks. Therefore having its focus often directed to the future.

During Aquarius season, ask yourself: What impact do you desire to have? Where can you bring more innovative thinking into your life and how you serve others?

Ruling Planet

In traditional astrology, Aquarius is ruled by the keeper of time and discipline, Saturn. In the year 1781, Uranus was discovered. It was around the same time of the French and American revolutions. This planet is associated with electricity, freedom, changemakers, and eccentricity. It became the modern ruler of the sign, Aquarius.

Astrological House

The eleventh house is the area of life that governs community, friends, visions and wishes. The collective consciousness lives here. The mind that is directed to the masses, which is why technology is equally important to this house. Forward thinking and eccentricity is home here as well.

Modality

We experience the fixed sign energies in the middle of a season when we have gotten used to the energy. For example, we have Taurus in the middle of spring, Leo in the middle of summer, Scorpio in the middle of autumn and Aquarius in the middle of winter. Known as the season of collecting wood, Aquarius has us arrive in winter.

Element

The element of air which is further embodied by the signs of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius are inspired driven beings. Air connects, inspires, muses, delivering us a deep fresh of air after the earth season of Capricorn. Air quality is often innovative, communicative, connective, and has a peripheral view to life. They see many different sides of one piece of information. They are highly drawn and connected oftentimes to the arts and inspiration is their business.

Body Astrology

The energy body, along with Pisces, is associated with Aquarius. What we might find a bit out there, when we hear about the chakra and meridian system. Also connected to Aquarius is the achilles and nervous system.

Human Design

The Gate of Contraction also known as Gate 41 in Human Design carries the energy of Aquarius. The energy of wishes and desires lives in this gate. There is a restlessness that pushes one to seek experiences. The key is to release expectations of what is being experienced and hand it over the fates that live in Gate 30, the connecting circuit that creates this channel whole. The Channel of Recognition has a desire to create art in its various forms. It desires to find its way of expression of its deepest emotions.
