With Winter Solstice on 21 December, equally ushering in the new astrological sign of Capricorn, we are reminded of what truly grounds us. As from this moment, the light will slowly return, even if it goes unnoticed for the next few months until spring. With it, we must trust. Trust that the light will return, that our energies will rise again. However, for now, into the dark days and nights we journey, with trust that from the darkness, we will be reborn again.
Characteristics
Capricorn is highly aware of responsibility, rules and duty. It craves fulfillment in its work. It asks how can I be utilized? What do I desire to do with my everyday life? Capricorn is very much concerned about its legacy and what it’s leaving behind. As an earth sign it reminds us about our higher purpose and life's work. The mountain goat that steadily climbs up to the mountain top. It knows where it is going, it has a plan, it takes one step after another until it reaches the peak.
Oftentimes, Capricorn appears to an old soul and wiser than their years, even an authority of some sort. There is a touch of seriousness that they naturally exude. Hard-working, traditional and devoted are ways to describe a typical Capricorn. However, this need to work hard may stem from a place of feelings of unworthiness.
