From a season of seeing both sides, Libra harmonizes every situation with its mediating energy. The contact that was made in Libra season, is now intensifying with the next zodiac in line. Desirous is one way to describe a typical Scorpio. This sign desires more. More intimacy. More passion. More depth.
Scorpio Season: 23 October - 22 November
Probably one of the, if not the, most misunderstood astrological signs. Often labeled as jealous, intense and possessive in most descriptions I come across, it is denied the complexity that this sign embodies. The complexity is where the profoundness of Scorpio lives. It does not desire to go deep for the sake of being nosy. It smells intuitively that there is more to the story. The words that are unspoken, the feelings unexplored - it intuits there is just simply more to pull out through its inquisitiveness. Can you blame it? How often we wander through life with emotions untouched and even ignored.
In a season that unearths all of our shadows, Scorpio invites us to dive deep into the questions and mysteries of life, death, and rebirth. Unafraid to peer through the darkness and go to places where others might not, makes them naturally adept in psychology and human behavior.
Scorpio as a sign embodies transformation. Their affirmation is "I transform". It is not unusual that Scorpio finds themselves through one transformation after another. Sometimes not recognizing themselves anymore as they are here to evolve in such an expansive way. They represent the full circle of life - birth, life, death, rebirth, being co-ruled by the planet of karma and transformation itself, Pluto. Also giving it its mystical and secretitve allure.
In their low expression, they victimize themselves in their emotions and are overwhelmed by their sensitivity. they become overprotective in their space and develop sharp tongues that sting. But hurt, they do themselves the hardest. In their high expression, they understand that their sensitivity is their biggest gift - to feel life to the furthest extent and make their pain, pleasure into alchemy and know how to channel their sensitivities to make a world a more healed place.
Scorpio is often mistaken as a fire sign giving its determined energy. Traditionally, co-ruled by Mars, like the fiery sign of Aries, it is ruled modernally by the dwarf planet of Pluto.
Pluto, being an outer and, therefore, generational planet, encompasses the pain of the collective. This planet darkens the energy of Scorpio making it feel at times heavy. However, it equally equips this sign with resilience, as transformation is a long journey. It can be emotionally taxing to have Scorpio placements in the chart, as themes of death and rebirth can not go unavoided. The more you embrace your inner darkness and seasons of transformation you go through in life, the more alchemical energy you possess to help others do the same.
The 8th house gets an undeserving reputation. It governs the themes of intimacy, sexuality, transformation, trauma, implications, inheritance, investments and magick. A house associated with the occult and psychic abilities.
We experience the fixed sign energies in the middle of a season when we have accustomed to the energy. For example, we have Taurus in the middle of spring, Leo in the middle of summer, Scorpio in the middle of autumn and Aquarius in the middle of winter. Being a fixed sign means they are not always a friend of change but rather like to nurture what already exists. Perseverance, stubbornness and devotion are keywords here.
Scorpio is a water sign. Water signs are known to be introverted, emotional, intuitive, sensitive and observers. Water absorbs the energies around it, wanted or not. Which is why often Scorpio might find itself enmeshed with those it's in deep relationships with. Untangling its energies with others is a lifelong journey for this sign to learn that it can create boundaries with those around it and still have deep connections.
Scorpio rules all organs of elimination and in particular the genitals. That which happens beneath the surface, unseen and often associated with shame. Its transformational function is a crucial part of our bodily health.
Gate 43 carries the Scorpio energy. The Gate of Insight is part of the Channel of Structuring, also known as the “Genius Freak”. Gate 43 has the gift of inner knowing. Mute to the outside world, it is one of the gates of the Ajna, the energy center associated with the mind. Only when they turn their energy inwards and listen within, will they be able to structure their thoughts and share their unique perspective with the world.
